Independence Monument: designed by the well-known architect Vann Molyvann and built in 1958 when Cambodia got the independence from France in 1953. This building showed to other counties on over the world and Khmer people to know Cambodia was the independence country and out of sub-country from France.
Independence Monument is around by 100 heads of dragons; and these heads is behalf of the colonial time of France to Khmer. The angle of Independence Monument has 25 heads, it stands on the center of city between of the Norodom Blvd and the Sihanouk Blvd. After finished of this, king of Khmer has always celebrated the official-nation Independence Day to commemorate this day for posterior Khmer people to be a ware of Cambodia was out of the colony of France forever.
